Hi, I’m Melissa, the photographer behind Melissa Vacaro Photography. I’ve spent more than ten years behind the camera, and my favorite place to be is with families.

Family photography is a natural fit for me because family is the center of my own life. I’m a wife and a mom of three, with two dogs and a flock of backyard chickens, so I know what real, busy, wonderfully chaotic family life looks like. That’s exactly what I love to capture: the genuine love and the little interactions that make your family yours.

My style is natural and candid, with rich, warm colors. You won’t hear “say cheese” during our session. Instead, I give gentle prompts and playful ideas to help everyone relax and enjoy their time together, and the photos take care of themselves. Parents often tell me how easy and fun the session felt, and that their kids had a great time.
