Watching her squeal with delight and proudly show off her leaf, I clicked away. Steven and Becka relaxed into their Giavanna and enjoyed the moment for what it was. A fleeting memory that I was there to capture. These moments, these memories, are what make my heart sing. So much natural joy, happiness and love.
Miss Giavanna Rose was immediately and completely adored when she entered this world last November. She joined our already large Italian family as only the fifth girl born to our extended family of 20+. To say she has plenty of protectors is an understatement. Our oldest son, Rocco, was immediately enamored with her. Completely smitten with the idea of another baby cousin to play with and adore. While her first year of life has looked very different with family gatherings ...thank you Covid... we have done our best to keep in touch through family group chats and pictures back and forth. Rocco's love and excitement for "baby Gigi", as he lovingly refers to her, has never wained. If anything it has grown stronger. Whenever we talk about Giavanna or show him pictures he squeals and covers his mouth. His eyes fill with pure joy and delight. Quickly followed by "Aww! She's soo cute!" These joyful moments have helped hold us over during our efforts of social distancing. Knowing one day soon we'll be able to see all of our littlest loves playing together again. While saying this past year has flown by may be cliche, nothing could ring more true. Giavanna Rose, you are one of the cutest and squishiest little loves and we are grateful to be part of your family. We can't wait to watch you continue to grow and hope this next year brings more laughs and giggles and playtime with your cousins. Wishing you the happiest first birthday!
All our love,
Anthony, Melissa, Rocco and Lincoln
